Oregon ITE SimCap Event: TSS Aimsun Overview and Networking Luncheon

For the third event of our DTA presentation series, Transport Simulation Systems (TSS) provided an opportunity inviting the Oregon ITE SimCap community to attend their North America Aimsun Users’ Meeting, free of charge right here in Portland! The Aimsun modeling software is a single, integrated, multi-resolution platform that provides users the ability to move from macroscopic to mesoscopic to microscopic modeling with provided feedback between each modeling level. One strength of Aimsun is the mesoscopic modeling element with dynamic traffic assignment (DTA), which has been a core element of the software for over 13 years and has been used on projects throughout the world. You may also register for the full conference and attend the evening reception following the User's Meeting for free to Oregon ITE Members. We had a fascinating program during this luncheon. Chris Wright from ODOT helped us learn about their new TripCheck Traveler Information Portal Enhancement and how the program will integrate data from traffic signal controllers and connected vehicle data, and help improve information sharing.
Emily Tritsch from PBOT illustrated Get Portland Moving, a program designed to help coordinate traffic control and information efforts across local agencies. She also spoke about the new partnership between the City of Portland and mapping application Waze. See full agenda here.

PTV Vissim is famous for its microsimulation abilities, but you may not know that Vissim now offer mesoscopic level analysis. Chetan Joshi from PTV Group will be presenting on the concepts and fundamentals of dynamic simulation based assignment (meso) within Visum. Additionally, the linkage to meso assignment in Vissim will also be discussed. The presentation will provide users with a perspective on areas of applications of meso assignment.

are you tired of all the traffic techy meetings, looking for the perfect opportunity to hang out with a bunch of ite folks in a social setting? Well we have the event for you! Ite will be hosting a "golf for people that don't golf" tournament at mcmenamins edgefield. Yes you can still be a golfer and come to the event, but we won't be keeping score! This is about having fun and socializing with other great members of oregon ite! This is a pitch and putt style 20 hole par 3 course. We have a limited amount of tee off times so start rallying your team of four. Or if you want to enter as a single person or a duo let us know and we will pair you up with other groups. Remember balls and clubs are an additional charge at the event; you may bring your own. And, as always, get there early because the first round is on ITE!
