2024 Transportation Project of the Year Award
The 2024 Oregon ITE Transportation Project of the Year Award went to ODOT and DEA for the I-5 over 26th Avenue Bridge Project!
The project replaced a bridge on I-5 using innovative methods to achieve:
The project replaced a bridge on I-5 using innovative methods to achieve:
- A 6-month reduction in construction duration
- Reduction of major impacts to the traveling public from 2 years to a single weekend
- Reduction of construction costs by $5.5 million
- In addition, the project team coordinated with PBOT to incorporate elements of their multi-use path design under the structure and through the nearby intersection, helping deliver multimodal connectivity along SW 26th Avenue.
