Oregon ITE March Data Analytics Workshop
Date: March 30, 2021 Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Location: Virtual Webinar Cost: Free Oregon ITE and its ITS Subcommittee presents you a half-day workshop centering on Data Analytics and Platforms. The workshop consists of three 50-minute sessions, with speakers from pubic and private sectors sharing with you their latest experiences in applying big data analytics and implementing data systems. Session 1: StreetLight Data Presented by Matt Pettit (Solution Engineer, StreetLight Data) and Amanda Deering (Transportation Engineer, DKS Associates) When it comes to using big data for traffic analysis and data collection, using big data can give you more questions than answers. StreetLight Data will provide a unique look into the process of turning raw data and existing traffic data streams into traffic metrics like vehicle counts, corridor routing and the ability to contextualize the "who" behind who's driving. Amanda will share her experience utilizing StreetLight data for City of Vancouver's Transportation System Plan update to better understand travel patterns in the region. Her presentation covers how the data was used to look at motor vehicle, freight, bike, and pedestrian activity and includes a COVID before-and-after analysis. Session 2: UrbanLogiq Presented by Leah Hanvey (Head of Business Development, UrbanLogiq) UrbanLogiq will present the benefits of a resilient systems approach to mobility and transportation data collection and analysis in a COVID-19 world. This will be illustrated by a technical overview of the UrbanLogiq platform, highlighting real world examples of how agencies such as the Texas Department of Transportation, the City of San José Department of Transportation, and the City & County of Honolulu use UrbanLogiq to better manage their data, wrangle it for insights, and become more resilient, nimble, and adaptable in an ever-changing environment. We will provide immediately actionable takeaways for those looking to increase ROI on data investments, institute quick-win best practices, and more easily uncover insights for a diversity of mobility use cases all in a secure, privacy-compliant, cost-efficient, and quality-assured way. UrbanLogiq, a proud ITE member, is an integrated data visualization software built for government. We focus on making data a valuable resource to be used to create powerful insights that help government make easier, faster, and more efficient decisions across mobility and transportation, economic development, planning, and public safety. Session 3: INRIX and RITIS Presented by Chi Mai (Transportation System Analysis Engineer, ODOT), Kerri Franey (Major Projects Planner II, ODOT) and Shawn Strasser (Traffic Signal Operations Engineer, ODOT) Chi Mai and Kerrie Franey from Oregon DOT and will focus on how they are using RITIS platform and INRIX data for planning and analysis. They will present traffic data trends on freeways from 2017 through 2019. Shawn Strasser from Oregon DOT will showcase the tools available in RITIS and their application in monitoring roadway conditions.
