Washington County and OSU quantified and compared the accuracy of the MioVision optical cameras and FLIR thermal cameras for pedestrian detection (1) within the crosswalk, and (2) at the curb-ramp waiting area under a variety of environmental test scenarios. The presenters will share their research findings and how they are using the results to help select sensors for future smart pedestrian treatments within Washington County.
